Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry calls for strong business ties in the face of modern challenges

MINSK, Sep 9 (BelTA) — Establishing reliable manufacturing cooperation ties is important in the face of modern challenges. General director of the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Nabeshko made the statement at an international forum on economic cooperation scheduled for the 955th anniversary of Minsk, BelTA learned.

Sergei Nabeshko said, “Today, every economic forum takes place keeping in mind external changes and external challenges. Obviously, unfortunately, sanctions and the resulting processes are the focus of today’s forum. Logistics, financial and manufacturing cooperation chains are disrupted. Problems with maintaining established mutual relationships arise. On the other hand, the situation gives impetus to an active response to these challenges.

The official stressed that the importance of the decisions that had been taken to localize manufacturing and ensure its self-sufficiency is now becoming evident. “The private sector should focus as much as possible on its own capabilities. Today it is not enough to buy or sell things. It is important to establish reliable manufacturing cooperation links with import substitution mainly in mind. The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is doing everything possible to help the private sector with it,” noted Sergei Nabeshko.

The International Forum on Economic Cooperation is taking place today at the National Library of Belarus. It is scheduled for the 955th anniversary of the Belarusian capital. An exhibition on the industrial sector of Minsk was also opened outside the library. It offers products made by MTZ, MAZ, Amkodor and Belkommunmash.
