Jerome Michel Belin | The Gonzales Investigator

August 25, 1976 – May 29, 2022

Jeromy Michael Belin of Gonzales was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, uncle and friend. He was born in Houston on August 25, 1976 and he left this earthly world on May 29, 2022, at the age of 45.

He loved his family and was always there to support his two children in all their endeavours. Whether they were coaches or spectators, Abby and Blayne always got advice from their dad on how to play the sport they were in. He carried that competitive and supportive nature by guiding them through life’s lessons and always wanting what was best for them. Jeromy loved and appreciated the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and occasionally took advantage of a trip on the water for a great day of fishing with his family and friends. Jeromy was a member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church in Gonzales. He owned Broken Branch Custom Furniture and created amazing pieces for many clients. And if one business venture wasn’t enough, he was also a sales manager for Equis Financial, making many new friends and clients from Texas and several other states. Jeromy was a member of Gonzales Masonic Lodge #30. He served his community and state as a law enforcement officer from June 1999 to May 2002 as a patrolman for the town of Gonzales. He continued his career with the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Department and held several positions such as Patrol Sergeant, CID Lt., and Deputy Chief from June 2002 to April 2017.

Jeromy is survived by his loving wife Julie of Gonzales, children Abigayle Belin of San Antonio and Blayne Belin of Gonzales, mother Kathryn Peoples of Yoakum, grandmother Josephine “Gigi” Janak of Yoakum and countless family and friends who loved him very much.

He is predeceased by his father Michael Douglas Belin, his grandparents Doug “Pops” and Teddie “Nan” Belin.

A funeral service is scheduled at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home on Saturday, June 4 at 10 a.m. The family will have visitation on Friday, June 3 from 5 to 7 p.m.
