Microsoft will equip 1 lakh of Indians with cybersecurity by 2022

To empower India’s workforce for careers in cybersecurity, tech giant Microsoft launched on Tuesday a cybersecurity skills program that aims to train more than one lakh of Indians by 2022.

The company said the program is designed to give learners a hands-on experience of the fundamentals of security, compliance, and identity.

“Investing in cybersecurity skills and preparing the next generation of security leaders is a big part of that effort. Microsoft is deeply committed to democratizing skills for all and this program is an important step in making cybersecurity skills accessible and affordable for all ” Anant Maheshwari, President, Microsoft India, said in a statement.

The company will organize these courses with its strategic consortium of partners, in particular Cloud, Koenig, RPS and synergistic learning.

Course modules are designed to support all levels of learners, regardless of where they are in their cybersecurity journey.

Microsoft has introduced four new security, compliance and identity certifications, of which the accredited certification for Fundamentals will be offered free of charge to anyone who takes the associated training as part of this initiative.

Additionally, in collaboration with its partners, Microsoft is providing learners with discounted offers on the rest of the advanced role-based certifications to acquire in-depth skills to tackle cybersecurity challenges.
