Print Scotland elects first female president

Print Scotland has elected Susan Graham, managing director of the Dalkeith-based FLB group, as its first woman chair.

The professional association of the graphic communications industry in Scotland voted for Graham at its annual general meeting, which was held virtually.

Graham will be chairman of the 111-year-old business body for a two-year term with Richard McCombe as the association’s vice chairman who is director of Matic Media, headquartered in Coatbridge.

Susan has thirty years of experience in the printing industry, first with Waddie’s, where she held various positions, before being appointed Head of Human Resources.

In 2003, she joined the HR department of Letts, now FLB Group, and was appointed director of human resources in 2016. She was appointed general manager in 2020.

She said: “I am honored and delighted to be appointed President of Print Scotland at a time of unprecedented change and challenge. Print Scotland’s vision is to be an effective association representing the interests of the Scottish printing community.

“I am convinced that a positive future awaits the industry in Scotland. Things are gradually improving for the print industry as we emerge from the pandemic and I am determined that, under my chairmanship, Print Scotland will encourage a dynamic approach to a changing market while guiding our members to every step of the way. “

Mr McCombe added: “Before entering the printing industry I was a teacher and was particularly impressed by Print Scotland’s dedication to attracting young people to our industry. As a member of the Board of Directors I have seen some of the exciting developments planned to support the learning program which will be of great benefit to Print Scotland members and their employees.
