Tierney Welcomes New Executive Vice President/Chief Media Officer

PHILADELPHIA CREAM–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Tierney, an IPG agency, today announced its newest hire, Jason Trubowitz, as Executive Vice President/Chief Media Officer leading its planning, paid media, data and analysis. With over 20 years of experience in the advertising industry, Trubowitz joins Tierney to instill a strong sense of collaboration and innovation within teams.

“The philosophy of our agency is anchored in our way of working. A seasoned thought leader and digital pioneer known for his collaborative approach and strong relationships, we are delighted to have Jason’s insights and leadership strengthen our talented team of media professionals. We live in a data-driven world, but that doesn’t mean we sacrifice creativity. Jason understands the intersection of creativity and data, how they drive consumer behavior and how they power smart solutions and results for our client partners,” said Tracey Santilli, President of Tierney.

As Trubowitz transitions to Tierney, he plans to build on the team’s thirst for learning and lead with an interdisciplinary, people-centric management style. At a time when digitalization is increasing consumer choice, Trubowitz has a strategic approach that will help distinguish Tierney’s media practice and reduce clutter.

“My goal as head of the media department is to empower, teach and learn from my team, but also to build strong partnerships with all of our clients,” Trubowitz said. “What excites me most about working in an integrated agency is the ability to be a true extension of our clients’ teams.”

Prior to being brought in to head Tierney’s media department, Trubowitz spent the past two decades working both in ad agencies and in-house on the client side. Early in his career, he led media planning efforts for brands that dominate their product categories, such as Diageo, The Coca-Cola Company and Walmart. Trubowitz continued his career in media planning in the news division of NBCUniversal and UnitedHealth Group, where his leadership spanned the Fortune 500 company’s entire brand portfolio. Much of his passion for advertising stems from Trubowitz’s education in psychology, in which he earned a bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College.

“Psychology is a big part of what we do as we try to reach people at times,” Trubowitz said. “Our advertising message and our media are more accessible and really about how people think, behave, what they do and when they do it. We have to go back to art a little more than science. It is important that we understand the opportunities that exist in the market to reach our consumers,” added Trubowitz.

Trubowitz has received numerous corporate awards from previous employers in recognition of his excellence in innovation and collaboration. Tierney is one of the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Best Places to Work in 2022 and is always on the lookout for skilled and passionate talent across all specialties.
