Yorkshire Business Insider June 2022

Display the showcase

June is the month we put our best wares on display in the form of the Invest Yorkshire Guide. We feature the best industries the region has to offer along with recent news and announcements. Hopefully the guide gives you – and the many readers where it is published in other Insider regions – some food for thought on investment decisions.

Creating an engaging investment story is a key priority for newly elected South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard. His frustrations will strike a chord with many of us, but he too continues to highlight a range of opportunities for economic growth in South Yorkshire.

The government is pushing for UK space-related industry to gain a bigger share of the international market and we hear from Space Hub Yorkshire and local businesses about opportunities to enter the sector.

Power generation has become a core force in this region and we feature just a few of the incredible innovators in this sector.

We also hosted two topical sponsored roundtables this month that attempt to predict where manufacturing is and where inflation is spiraling. There are particularly insightful thoughts from participants on both.

Insight is what we got the scoop from our 42 Under 42 awards dinner guest, James Lambert. The founder of R&R Ice Cream is, in my opinion, one of Yorkshire’s most impressive entrepreneurs.

He told diners at the event, “I don’t think the principles of entrepreneurship have changed at all in 40 years. It takes a decent human being to be a successful entrepreneur.

What a good motto!
